TRIP ITINERARY

DAY 1

When arriving to Lima, you’ll be picked up from the airport by a local tour representative that will take you straight to the hotel. Once there, we’ll take the chance to relax and explore the nearby places on our own.

We’ll meet for our welcome dinner and officially kick off this trip!

 (Welcome dinner included)

Arrival to Lima & pickup from the airport

DAY 2

Huacachina oasis, dune buggies and sandboarding

Today we embark on a mere 4-hour drive from Lima on a fully equipped VIP bus. Prepare for an exhilarating day brimming with adventure. We’ll watch the astonishing sunset in the deserts of Ica and then we’ll rev up the excitement with a dune buggy expedition across the Huacachina desert & conclude the day with some sandboarding.

Transfer to Paracas

DAY 3

Ballestas islands and national reserve

Today we’ll find ourselves immersed in pure relaxation in Paracas. This tranquil coastal town hosts both the Ballestas Islands and the Paracas National Reserve. We’ll take a boat ride to the Poor Man's Galapagos Islands of Peru. Along the way see dolphins (if we're lucky!), variety of bird species, seals, and penguins that live in this incredible habitat.

Then, we’ll get ready to visit the beautiful sand dunes of the reserve via 4x4.

DAY 4

Today we’ll check out from our hotel in Paracas, take a VIP bus back, and then transfer to the airport for our flight to Cusco.

Located at 11,150 ft, Cusco is famous for its spectacular main square, cobblestone streets and houses with terracotta tile roofs.

On arrival, we begin your acclimatization process to avoid altitude sickness. We’ll take the evening to relax and have a light meal (trust me, you don’t want to overdo it).

Welcome to Cusco, the heart of the Peruvian Andes

DAY 5

Early morning, we’ll be picked up as we start our exploration of the Sacred Valley’s must visit sites, such as Chinchero, Moray, the Salt Mines of Maras and Ollantaytambo.

Along the way we’ll stop at Mountain View for a bucket list lunch with views and we’ll get to meet and interact with llamas and alpacas! (I seriously cannot wait!)

At the end of our tour, we’ll take a train to Aguas Calientes where we’ll spend the night.

Sacred Valley

DAY 6

One of the 7 wonders of the world: machu picchu

Today we’ll have a very early start to the day so that we can avoid crowds. We’ll get on a bus at 5:30am and arrive at the park at 6:00am for a 2-hour guided tour through the ruins of Machu Picchu. Learn about the history, architecture, and Inca civilaztion. Get ready to take tons of photos! You’ll also have plenty of free time here to do as you wish.

After the tour, we will take the Vistadome Train to Ollantaytambo, where a local tour representative will be waiting for us to be transferred back to Cusco.

DAY 7

Get ready for an unforgettable journey where we'll dive headfirst into the heart and soul of this vibrant country. Through its art, traditions, and, most importantly, its incredible people, we’ll discover a world rich in customs and beliefs.

One of the most special parts of this journey is the chance to immerse yourself in the authentic culture of an Andean village. We’ll get up close and personal with Quechua farmers, learning ancient Incan farming techniques, joining in traditional music and dance, and trying on beautiful garments handwoven by local women.

As we savor the delicious local cuisine and hear stories of the community’s rich history, we’ll start to feel what life was like in ancient Incan times.

We will be picked up around 5am and transferred through remote Andean communities to get here. The time here will be filled with fun as we:

  • Learn about Andean agriculture

  • See how music and dance are incorporated into the fabric of Andean farming culture

  • Drink chicha, learn the importance of the sacred drink, and learn proper Andean drinking etiquette

  • Try on clothing weaved by local Choquecancha women

  • Have lunch featuring traditional Andean food

cultural immersion

DAY 8

hike to rainbow mountain and cooking class

Let’s be early explorers and savor the tranquility a top the Andes! Witness the colorful wonders of rainbow mountain, stunning red landscapes and encounter llamas and alpacas. We’ll be among the first to reach the summit, escaping the crowds for an exclusive experience. After rainbow mountain, we’ll visit the red valley.

Note: Our day will start at 3am so we will be provided a box breakfast to fuel up before the trek. We will also be provided a box lunch to enjoy after the hike.

Hike: 1.5-2h uphill, 1-1.5h downhill

Difficulty: Moderate, but challenging altitude (option to rent a horse)

*Horseback is available to hire the morning of the trek from local horsemen. Horses are property of the locals. If you choose to hire a horse, please note horsemen do not speak English nor do they always stick with the group of hikers and the guide as the horses walk faster than the hikers. Should you choose to hire a horse you assume all liability and ride at your own risk.

(Breakfast and Lunch included)

The fun is not over!

After our hiking tour, we’ll head back and prepare for an absolute best time as we learn to cook some traditional Peruvian cuisine. One of the coolest things about this experience is that we’ll even get to pick out the ingredients at the local market first. Before we begin cooking, we’ll also learn to make passion fruit pisco sours (MY FAVORITE!! Don’t worry you’ll love them too, haha)
